The Association for the History of Groupe
Caisse dEpargne (AHGCE, or Association pour lHistoire du
Groupe Caisse dEpargne
) is a non-profit-making association created in 1995
with a view to pursuing all activities enabling it to encourage and
develop research on Groupe Caisse dEpargne in the social sciences
history and sociology, in particular and to facilitate, by
whatever means necessary, the promotion and publication of the
results of this work or any other research carried out on the Group
in these disciplines.
In order to develop and perpetuate its
work in this area, it organizes its activities around
three complementary areas of reflection and action:
Safeguarding, preserving and promoting the written and oral
archives of companies belonging to Groupe Caisse dEpargne: In view of
the rich legacy of its past, a Group such as our own is duty bound
to preserve a record of its history. Although this
preservation is a vital prerequisite to all scientific research, the
task assumes gigantic proportions owing to the sheer diversity and
volume of our archived material, further complicated by its
geographical dispersion, a fact that reflects the specific character
of Groupe Caisse dEpargne.
Considering the difficulties faced by researchers wanting to
study such a widely dispersed body of archived material, the
Association has installed document management software allowing the
virtual consultation of the Groups archives.
Encouraging research, coordinating and
promoting the works entrusted to the institution: Since its creation, the Association
for the History of Groupe Caisse d'Epargne works in close collaboration
with the university world. It therefore grants research
loans to students basing their work related to the
history of the Caisses d'Epargne and their environment. It also
organises study workshops and events in cooperation with the
University, the world of research and their European
counterparts.
Issuing
publications, designing works and organising exhibitions related to
the history of the Caisses d'Epargne: The Association regularly issues two
publications: "The Newsletter of
the Association for the
History of the Caisses d'Epargne", a quarterly publication providing an overview
of the activities and productions of the Association,
"The Supplements for the History of the
Caisses d'Epargne" ,a half-yearly
scientific review aimed at providing information and distributing the
research work conducted on the history of Groupe Caisse d'Epargne. The Association
coordinates or directly produces the publications it publishes
with the Editions de l'Epargne or takes part with other
publishers. It creates and holds permanent exhibitions on the premises of the
Caisse Nationale des Caisses d'Epargne and travelling exhibitions
in the establishments of Groupe Caisse
d'Epargne". |
