The Caisses dEpargne Foundation for
Social Solidarity, an institution
granted the official seal of state approval in April 2001, focuses
its efforts on fighting all forms of dependency and social exclusion
related to old age, illness, disability or illiteracy.
The Foundation is distinguished by
the diverse channels it uses to
pursue its activities.
- The Foundation is a not-for-profit operator in
the social healthcare sector.
With a
headcount of 4,300, it manages a network comprising 89 establishments and
services. It is directly involved in the
fight against social exclusion, designing and implementing
grass-roots operations, such as the Savoirs pour réussir
(Knowledge for Success) initiative within the campaign against
illiteracy.
- It selects, appraises
and finances innovative projects, drawing on the donations
from the Caisses d'Epargne and their subsidiaries.

It is also able to act as an umbrella
organization for other foundations. Thus, at a regional level, ten
foundations operating under the aegis of the Caisse
dEpargne Foundation have been created by individual French
savings banks: the Caisse dEpargne Provence Alpes Corse Réunion
Guadeloupe Foundation, the Caisse dEpargne Rhône Alpes Lyon
Foundation, the Caisse dEpargne Languedoc-Roussillon Foundation for
Autonomy, the Caisse dEpargne Aquitaine-Poitou-Charentes
Foundation, the Caisse dEpargne Loire Drôme Ardèche Foundation, the
Caisse dEpargne de Haute-Normandie Foundation, the Caisse dEpargne
de Basse-Normandie Foundation, the Auvergne Limousin Foundation, the
Caisse dEpargne Loire-Centre Foundation and the Vivre
Longtemps
(Live
a Long Time) Foundation.
